LOVE NOTES From the Desk of Our Health Coach!!!
HOW TO STRENGHTEN THE RELATIONSHIPS IN YOUR LIFE.
STEP 1. RECOGNIZING YOUR RELATIONSHIP NEEDS
Friendship: It Is much more comforting to do life with someone/people else. Friendships can counter loneliness and depression.
Love: A long term and deeply spiritual kind of connection.
Touch: Most adults are touch starved. A hug a day or a massage appointment would go a long way. in curbing our cravings for touch and saving us from unnecessary love triangles.
Intimacy: A relationship in which you feel safe, valued and understood. It usually involves emotional and physical closeness.
Sex: A great orgasm and a rush of hormones after sex does not mean you have found the father/mother of your children. It Is not the only reason to get into a relationship. However, sex and intimacy are the glue that keeps relationships together. Not a lot of people divorce when they’re having fantastic sex.
STEP 2: RE-EVALUATE HOW YOUR RELATIONSHIP NEEDS ARE BEING MET.
Be mindful that you’re not trying to fulfil one need with another or leaning on someone who is not capable of fulfilling a particular need. You can’t get everything you want from one person, and it Is very hard to have that one person be your everything. It Is important that you determine for yourself what works for you and to keep reviewing, as this could change over the years.
STEP 3: Discuss your expectation with your partner, friend or family member.
Be open, non-accusatory and curious to learn about the other party’s relationship needs as well.
