Dear healthy reader, Food matters and it has a direct effect on behavior, learning and health. The problem usually comes from what has been ingested and not an unusual brain activity.

Natural salicylates:
Fruits: Berries, citrus, apples, grapes
Veggies: Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers
Herbs/Spices: Mint, Basil, Turmeric, Cinnamon
Nuts/Seeds: Almonds, pine nuts
Teas, coffee, honey
Lead in foods like:
Root vegetables: Carrots, sweet potatoes, leafy greens, processed food, water, some spices, chocolate
Foods containing synthetic dyes, coloring and preservatives:
Brightly colored candy (M & M, Skittles)
Fruit flavored snacks
Processed breakfast cereal
Flavored yogurts
Sodas and sports drinks
Packaged baked goods like colorful cupcakes
Food containing synthetic sweeteners:
Diet sodas
Sugar-free gum
Low-calorie yogurts
Protein bars
Flavored water
Food containing artificial flavoring:
Processed snacks (chips, popcorn)
Flavored yogurts
Instant noodles
Candy and desserts
Temporarily remove all foods containing all these ingredients and later reintroduce them one at a time and see whether they’re tolerated. Substitute them with fruits and vegetables that are well tolerated e.g pears for apples, pineapples for oranges.
OTHER FACTORS ARE:
Parental exposure on the part of parents to toxins and cigarettes and hard drugs.
Stress
Vitamin/mineral deficiencies/excesses especially omega 3 deficiency.
Environmental allergens and sensitivity issues like mold, pollen, pet dander, chemicals from cleaning products and fragrances
Noise pollution
Strong smells from perfumes and paint
Sensory processing disorders like sound/smell/ touch sensitivity.
